Instead of hacking off the limbs and heads of the bad guys, he used his machete to trim and prun branches and trees to create fine topiary. Machete! No, the Gardener of Sanctuary Hills and he liked it, putting away forever his ex-Military, Mercenary, hired machete, badass assassin - even in space - past behind him. While I cannot capture all the aspects of this character as portrayed in the films, I felt that the Event was the perfect vehicle to show off his trademark weapon in a fun Agility and Luck merc build that uses VATS, booze, chems, and Machete! The build is based off the title character of the films Isador "Machete" Cortez, an ex-Federali, CIA, DEA, day laborer, gardiner, mercenary whatever, whose primary weapon of choice is his namesake. Danny Trejo is one of my favorite character actors and to see him finally get some starring roles was a real treat.
Here is the trailer from the first film from 2010, which was pieced together from the original fake trailer, so you can understand my inspiration. The concept has since grown into two movies, with a third soon to be released. This started as a fake trailer in Quentin Tarentino and Robert Rodriguez's joint project "Grindhouse". This time, for the Event: Arms and Artifacts, I draw inspiration from another group of films from the grindhouse genera.
